Wellbeing Tip 1

The first thing I would advise anyone who wanted to improve their life and didn’t know where to begin would be to start practising daily gratitude. I realise that the reasoning behind it (the Law of Attraction) might sound like woo-woo to a lot of people, but I promise you it works! Anyone with keen awareness will definitely start noticing that coming from a place of abundance (ie being grateful for all the blessings in our life) rather than a place of lack (where we focus on what we don’t have) will slowly make life feel a little, well, easier, as if due to “luck”.

Here’s the way I incorporate gratitude into my life. Every night in bed once the lights are off, I simply think of a minimum of 3 things that I’m grateful for or that sparked joy that day. I concentrate on specific things that happened that day (like a sunny day, talking to a friend or seeing a good movie), not big, general things (like having a roof over my head). Then on days when I have more time in the morning, certainly every day during the summer holidays, I make a much longer mental list of everything I’m grateful for as part of my morning meditation, including the big things we normally take for granted (like hot running water and good health).
